Degranulation of Mesenteric Mast Cells to Antigen Reaction in Rats Infected with Clonorchis sinensis

Abstract
The degranulation of mesenteric mast cells in rats infected with Clonorchis sinensis, was studied.
In the infected rats, number of mast cells increased significantly as compared with that observed in normal rats. When the infected rats were challenged directly with Clonorchis antigenn into mesentery of rats, degranulation of mast cells occurred 92. 1%~99. 6% in 5~15 minutes, whereas 9. 9% in unchallenged. control and 17.0% in the infected rats injected with saline in lieu of the antigen were observed.
The findings seemed to reflect essential, events in antigen-antibody reaction leading to degranulation of mast, cells.
